Sexual abuse by Filipino priests?
I stumbled upon this news item about the Pope apologizing for sexual abuse by Australian priests.
And it makes me wonder: does this type of sexual abuse happen in the Philippines? The only reference I have found so far is this site which claims that 200 Roman Catholic priests in the Philippines have been investigated for "sexual misconduct and abuses" over the past two decades and that "sexual misconduct and abuses" includes a number of offenses, "from child abuse to rape to keeping adult mistresses."
This is unsurprising as we all know the tale of Padre Damaso from Noli Me Tangere.

and this is why since i was 15 when i heard a lot of priest involved in sexual scandals i stopped attending masses. hey i can communicate with the good lord anytime i want. i just go to my church and sit in one corner and ask for forgiveness and guidance. i hope that they quit and burn in hell! especially those who abuses kids. they are not priest but demons in sheep clothing!
