I forgot to add Buwayahman, why don't you repost your "old post" so that newbies in your site can read it?

Most of the Westerners who responded here have summed up their answer and I just have to add one more thing.

It is already established that they go for the "ugly" women and not the pretty dark skinned ones such as Miriam Quiambao or Angel Aquino for that matter. Well, think of this, people. Those navy/army people that are stationed in Subic for the first time do not know anyone here. Only those bar girls in Angeles, no matter how bad looking they are, are the only ones at their disposal. Yes, there may be pretty ones, but these are usually taken really fast by their regulars.

Also, how sure are you that the mestiza women that pinoys worship aren't "ugly" in a caucasian man's eyes?

 but here's the thing: they produce pretty good-looking offsprings that are really fun to bang.

I lived in the U.S. and I am a filipino.  I consider a beautiful mestiza from the Philippines just look like an average girl, maybe there she is hot, but not here and  not to me.  Streets of america are flooded with true mestiza's and the caucasian (white) ladies, you can have them for just a fair price.  When I spend my vacation in the philippines 2 years ago, I did not look for a fair complexion or a mestiza girl, but i look for someone with similarity to Tetchie Agbayani (exotic look).  Why?  Just like what Tim said,  why should I travel  half across the globe to screw the same type of chick I could pay back home.  When I say exotic look, it doesn't  mean she is butt ugly, she is just interesting and different.

No offense to you Bman, but if you bring your mestiza chick in the US, white guys will hardly look and admire her, but in the other hand; you bring a Tetchie Agbayani  look alike here, most guys regardless of race  will salavate looking at her, including me.  Strange world but it is true. 

Let me start by saying that beauty is subjective (and in the eye of the beholder) and even though I sometimes cringe at who the americans like when they visit Philippines, I totally understand how the "exotic" (or ugly/plain) looking filipina with her dark skin & small petite figure would be desirable to the average american.

Just like the asian preference for lighter skinned mestizas, because we are tired of dark snub-nosed girls, americans are also tired of pale-skinned big boned white women. Hence the attraction for them. It is important that after an american (or any western expat) has lived in asia for a longer term, they tend to pick out the prettier morena and not the exotics anymore.

I have newly arrived filipinos in the USA, who were so happy to date a very average looking american girl here, because they just newly arrived and every white girl looks good. After several years, they tend to say to themselves: I can't believe I though she was very pretty back then.

The good thing, is when we party, we will not be going after the same type of girls.

i just wanted to comment of the quality of bars in angeles.

while it is true that bars along the perimeter of clark (fields avenue in particular) are not anywhere near the quality of bars in manila, there are a few quality places in angeles. bars such as Juliana, Pink Lady, Dunk Shot, Sky and Club Fairway are at a same level as some ktvs in manila (though not to the quality of pegasus or af1).

Americans really do have very poor taste in women. a friend of mine during my college days got married to an american 3 years back. if you asked me to describe her looks, i would say "mabait siya". hehe. i don't want to be judgemental or anything but she was not a looker. she was 5" tall, 90 lbs, dark skinned, and had a face only a mother could love (ang lupit ko naman ata). and the guy she married was no D.O.M. either. he was in his early 30's, had a decent job, and was fairly good looking. i saw them together shortly after their wedding and they were not a very pretty couple. just imagine a 6" tall white guy with 5" dark-skinned chick. same scenario you would see along fields avenue in balibago angeles city.

I think the Americans and the Europeans have the same taste for exotic women..Remember our very own Tetchie Agbayani, she was a centerfold model for German edition of Playboy during the early 80's.

I personally don't find caucasians attractive although there are exceptions, like Elisha Cuthbert, Katherine Heigl and Maria Sharapova. Dark-haired non-Filipinos like Natalie Portman and Jessica Alba are probably closer to Filipino stereotype more so with the growing mix of ethnicities brought about by globalization, several beautiful women of Filipino descent are coming to the forefront of international attention (or lust?). This supports Mr. B's hypothesis.

On the other hand, we had an American friend, an ex-serviceman who was settling down here in the Philippines. He asked us to help him select a wife from several women who had answered his ad stating his intent to marry a Filipina. We dutifully sorted them into piles of women we oursleves would choose (based on accompanying photos and written profiles), women he might consider (they looked alright, not particularly attractive, but had other things going for them, and a third pile. The first two piles had teachers, nurses, accountants, a couple of doctors and dentists and even a lawyer, so I thought we'd done a pretty good job helping out.

Well, after poring over these files, shaking his head with doubt, he pokes his hand ino the third pile, picks up on picture, then another, and less than 5 seconds later, he's holding up a picture and says, "I like her, she's beautiful!" She was dark, hardly shapely (couch potato physique), short, with a face that would charitably be called unremarkable. Exotic indeed!

We were understandably flabbergasted. They're still married. Go figure.
