My Sex Education
I learned about sex at about 9 years of age.
Though we had Playboy and Penthouse magazines in our house, I ironically did not learn about sex through those magazines. At my time, there were no pictures of men and women in coital positions. These magazines had nude pictures of voluptuous women, with Penthouse being raunchier than Playboy.
I also did not learn sex from my parents. Not even from my siblings. They were always out of the house---my parents were working; my siblings were out with their own friends.
I actually learned about sex from the dogs that are outside my house. In one late afternoon, while peering through the bedroom window, I glanced one stray, mixed-breed street dog have a go at it with another street dog. Dog-style, naturally. It was that pumping motion that fascinated me. Plus that happy, satisfied, tongue-panting look on both dogs. They truly must be having fun.
Then I realized the pleasures of masturbation. It happened one evening when I had a raging erection. The tip of my penis was extremely sensitive. I discovered that stroking it was extremely pleasureable. At first, when I would feel the oncoming orgasm, I stopped, worried of the results. Something seemed aching to burst out and I was frightened of what I would see. Curiosity got the best of me and, nights later, I decided to take the action to fruition. And when that white, sticky, chlorox-scented goo shot out, then, with the shock of revelation, I knew that was how babies were made.
I tell this incident in the light of CFC's ongoing battle against formalized sex education. In my experience, boys do not learn sex from their parents. They learn it from what they see in life. Parents at best only fill in the gaps.

SE - A must
The main reason why there are a lot of OA Pervs (PsychoManiacRapist) is because they are all SABIK when it comes to the "THING". If their mind will be set with SE, they wont crave for it...
My point here is the more a person is being controlled or forbidden to do\know something the more aggressive he\she becomes to do\know that thing.
Id say, There is nothing wrong with SE. its far more positive since the child will be guided by his parents to do the fucking.
See American pie. the protagonist's dad even introduced PLAYBOY & HUSTLER mags! - A role Model!
At least children wont be so "HAYOK SA LAMAN" and would reconsider consequences if they will do it on their early age and wont turn into PsychoManiacRapist.

WE ARE HORNY BUT NOT PERVS!!!

Sex Ed
The dangerous thing about not teaching sex education to kids is that they will learn this elsewhere. In your case, it is with the dogs, but as a kid, you didn't know the science and the responsibility associated with it.
A mother in the US( I saw this on Oprah ) even said that it is better for the parents and the school to educate the kids on sex. It is because it will be deadly if they get wrong information( classmates, friends, porn ), and not be able to distinguish fact from fiction.
Super Dense About Sex
I learned about sex when I was also about the same age as you were but not only from dogs but also from my close friends and one magazine my cousin and I found in our older cousins secret chest. I learned about sex from novels in my father's library too. But I too did not learn sex from my parents, I came from a very small and conservative town down south and it was taboo to openly talk about sex in the presence of adults.
I was so dense about sex in that I have never connected sex to reproduction until I was in 1st year college, I was in shock when I realized that my parents actually did it for me and my siblings to be created, that was a yucky moment for me then! It was also in college that I learn and practice the ways of the birds or is it bees and flowers, hehehe.
